“The emotions and feelings are expressed in a free brush stroke…” Alexander Dudorov was born in 1963 and graduated from the Polytechnic University of Saint-Petersburg, Russia. Since childhood, he was fond of music, literature, and art. Presently, Dudorov is a member of a prestigious association, the Union of Artists of Russia, and has had eight personal exhibitions. Many of his works are held in museums throughout Russia, and hundreds of his paintings are in private collections around the world. Alexander was a finalist in the International Art Festival in New York in 2014 and 2015. He focuses on searching for natural beauty in the world- the light northern sky and the sensation of cleanliness that a frosty winter brings; the barely perceptible but distinct smell of freshly mowed grass; the harmony of solemn St. Petersburg architecture; surreal trams running through the rain; and flowers, so loved by him. Dudorov carefully peers into details, trying not to miss any part of life with metaphysical tendencies. This approach gives freedom to his emotions, revealing a path to extreme clarity. It’s difficult to breathe life into a picture, which only an artist with a divine gift can do. The form, the color, the texture, the touch, the light - all in a harmonious combination generate the necessary degree of authenticity in Alexander’s art.
