 After the performance the crowds of opera goers recede into the velvety blue evening in New York City. They are still in awe of the spectacular send off provided by exquisite Crystal chandeliers gifted to Met Opera back in 1966 by the country of Austria. Thinking of Viennese Opera’s luminescent blessing, some people are lingering in the foyer. The painting is completed in traditional egg tempera with gilded elements reminiscent of European medieval altarpieces.
